    The Future is Now

    Establishing Matilija Salon

    Matilija was the name of a Chumash village by a river in what is now called Meiners Oaks about an hour and a half north of Los Angeles. It is also the name of a mythical figure of legend, Chief Matilija, which tells the creation story of the Matilija Poppy. It’s a love story, of course.

    My friend wants to be herself…

    It was the third day and I was crying. I didn’t feel sad, but it was just coming out of me. And my helper visited and I was crying and she said I could come down and I said, no, I’ve got one more night and I really am ok, I really am, I am just crying and I don’t know why and I will come down in the morning.
